The
C H R I S T M A S     l i g h t s
are up and operating!

Operating hours:
5:00 PM until 10:00 PM during the week,
5:00 PM until 11:00 PM Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings,
5:00 PM until 1:00 AM Christmas Eve and Christmas day,
The speakers in the yard will operate until about 9:00 PM and then shut off.

Listen to the lights on Newburgh Lights Radio on
101.5 MHz on your FM dial.

-->If you are hearing the music delayed.<--
If the music you hear on your car radio is delayed from the lights,
that delay is in your car radio. Check your owner's manual for
how to turn that off. Sometimes called "Drive-in theater" mode.
I can not fix YOUR radio problem.

Bus tours are NOT welcome!
If I see a tour bus, I will shut the show down until they leave.
Sorry, but the street arrangement simply can't handle busses.

You can control the show.   Point a web browser to: wfcl.miip.mobi
Select the currently running show. You can see what songs will be playing soon, and if you
select a song, you can vote it up to play sooner or vote it down to play it later.
After the show ends until sunup, the yard will will normally be playing a twinkling tree sequence,
and Newburgh Lights Radio will be playing assorted Christmas music on 101.5 FM. But you can play
any song or announcement by voting them in. Songs that you vote in will start within a minute.
Any Music or announcements playing on the radio will be interrupted for the duration of the
requested song or announcement

During non-show hours, Newburgh Lights Radio will carry a wide assortment of
Christmas music as part of the Demented Elf Radio Network. Feel free to listen
on 101.5 MHz. All voiceovers for both the Demented Elf Radio Network and during
the light show were produced by:

A big thanks to Kevin for the voiceovers that are far better than what I could produce!

Newburgh Lights Radio is on the air!

Although far more sedate, the yard does run a slow show with the landscape lighting all year
long during the evening hours, along with a few special lighting events during the year.

For Christmas 2012 and 2013 I had an animation only light show with the primary element being
the pixel tree and star. For Christmas 2014, I switched to a fully synchronized musical display.
I added lights on the eves, 6 arches in the yard and 600 lights along the block wall above the
roses. Both the eves and arches were fully R G B controlled.

There are more lighting changing coming for Christmas 2021
Several things that were planned for 2020 did not happen because the pixel tree rebuild took
longer than I expected - and I did not start early enough on it. Then, I got COVID-19, which
wiped out any ability of me to do any more changes. And yes, mostly I'm fine now.
I still tire more easily, so a few more changes will be pushed off till 2022...

So this is what I expect to change in 2021.
I'm hoping to have the second Tune-To sign operational this year, and the one that was running
before will then move to a better location. There will be a row of candy canes along the driveway.
(These should be there late this weekend)
Every song is getting a major change in the way I create the sequences. Along the way, there
are at least minor tweeks to the sequencing - and in a few cases, fairly major changes.
I hope to add at least one more song to the show.
And if I have time, moderize this website (it needs it badly).

I had planned some other changes, but after I had Covid-19 last December, I have had very little
energy and ambition. Most of the planned 2021 changes are being pushed back to 2022.

Each year I have slowly added a few more lights and a couple more songs. For Christmas 2020,
we're at 7,746 lights, being controlled as 10,725 lighting channels. That count does not include
the 18,432 lights and 55,296 channels for the matrix panels. There are 14 songs in the show.
I hope to get one more song added some time during the show season.

Songs that are expected in the 2021 light show:

  Song title   Artist
  Wizards In Winter   Trans-Siberian Orchestra
  Christmas Cannon   Trans-Siberian Orchestra
You're a Mean one Mr. Grinch   Burl Ives
Jingle Bells   Barry Manilow with Expose'
Hark! The Harold Angles Sing   Lake Ave. Church Organ & Orchestra
God Bless the USA   The American Patriots
  Deck the Halls   Mannheim Steamroller
  Carol of the Bells
  (Christmas Eve / Sarajeva 12/24)
  Trans-Siberian Orchestra
Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer   Gene Autry
All I Want for Christmas is You   Mariah Carey
  Feliz Navidad   Jose Feliciano
  The Hanukkah Song   Elliot Dvorin
Soldier's Silent Night   Father Ted Berndt
A Mad Russian Christmas - New   Trans-Siberian Orchestra

A big thank you to Michael Tovar who has helped me a lot in construction and setup.

On the videos page there is one song from 2014 - the first year that I ran a
music synchronized show, and the animation only video of the pixel tree from 2012.
Eventually I should get some more videos posted.

My house is located at: 609 E. Newburgh St. in Glendora, CA

BTW, if I come out of the house while you are watching, I'm not trying to chase you off.
I put the lights up for you to enjoy. Please stick around and enjoy the lights. I might
even come over to offer you a candy cane or wish you a Merry Christmas!
